Art of Storytelling is Hiring an Intern

The Art of Storytelling is hiring an intern in the Portland, Oregon area. With clients all over the globe, Art of Storytelling’s coaches and editors work online with creative writers on novels, memoir, screenplays and short stories. We help excavate a writer’s authentic voice, evolve that creative expression step-by-step, and finally help clients get published. Want to be part of a highly creative and exciting atmosphere? Check out our website at www.artofstorytellingonline.com.

We’re seeking someone to work 10 hours a week for three months, both on mundane tasks like data entry and on more innovative projects like marketing through social media. The successful applicant will work closely with AofS’s owner for the first few weeks. After this, the intern will work from home, with one meeting per week held in the Portland area.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, independent, organized and with strong attention to detail. If you’re an innovate thinker with excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills, this internship is for you. We’d love someone with a lot of social media savvy, too. As we all know, it’s easier to get a job if you’re already working. So instead of waiting, create opportunities for yourself with this exciting internship offer.

Please have strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, WordPress, Mailchimp, Quicken, Wix, and social media sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. An interest in creative writing is a plus.

Tasks include:
Enter expense reports in Quicken
Create and distribute press releases
Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets of coaches and clients
Perform new client intake
Find guest bloggers
Publish blogs
Update website
Explore ways to increase exposure on social media sites

Please send a resume, cover letter, and contact information for three references, one personal and two professional to job.artofstorytelling@gmail.com by Monday, October 22, 2012. This is an unpaid position, but the benefits include work experience, potential for professional growth, and a dynamic atmosphere. No other emails or phone calls please.
